Karen Goyal, PA-C

Karen Goyal is a nationally certified Physician Assistant and licensed with the Physician Assistant Board of California.

A Physician Assistant works interdependently with physicians to provide diagnostic and therapeutic patient care.

Karen earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from UCLA in 2004, then graduated from Saint Louis University Physician Assistant Program in 2008 with a Master of Medical Science.

Karen’s previous experience includes family practice and urgent care.

Karen is a Santa Barbara native, having moved here when she was 4 years old.  After graduating from Santa Barbara High School, she attended UCLA, where she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2004.  Prior to Physician Assistant training, Karen worked as patient care tech at Saint Louis University Hospital and trained an Emergency Medical Technician.  She also studied acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine in Beijing, China

Karen graduated from Saint Louis University in 2008 with a Master of Medical Science.  She then married her husband, Vishal Goyal, and they moved around the country for his physician training.  Karen worked as a Physician Assistant in urgent care and family practice in Sacramento and Albuquerque.

Karen and her husband were fortunate to move back to Santa Barbara in 2015, where Karen’s parents still live.  Karen’s husband, Dr Vishal Goyal, is a local cardiologist who works for Cottage Health.  Karen and Vishal have two children, Maya and Rishi, in elementary school.  When Karen is not working or driving the kids between after-school activities, she is active in the community as a board member on the Montessori Center School Board of Trustees and is the VP of her Homeowner’s Association.  Her passions include bike riding, hiking, gardening, and enjoying the gourmet meals her husband and children cook for her on weekends

Karen feels very fortunate to join a long-established, reputable medical practice with well-respected providers and staff.  Working in a team with Dr Haig, I believe my patients will experience exceptional care in small, personalized environment.
